As we plan on visiting the Child Ombudsman for our next meeting, the focus of this one was the Convention on the Rights of the Child.  We discussed the UNCRC, commented articles and members gave their own opinions as well as suggestions about the Convention.  The conclusion was that child rights are very often broken and violated. A great deal of discussion was also about their obligations and responsibility. We concluded this meeting with many questions for the Child Ombudsman as well as with a deeper reflection on our work so far.

One of the members said: “When the CAB started, I wasn’t sure how it would look like. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to participate. But after a few times I felt more and more empowered to participate and I feel our group is very strong. Sometimes I’m angry when some people don’t show up so I feel that we’re picking them up along the way. At the same time, we’re doing a lot of things here and I feel strong.”
