Children’s Board is an initiative that takes place during the school year and involves older primary school students in group work. Children participate in workshops on themes surrounding children´s rights. Group members actively observe their environment and identify both good and bad examples of issues relating to children’s rights, and then discuss it together in groups. As a result of these discussions and activities, children develop the skills and knowledge to grow into roles where they can eventually help other children. Through these workshops, participants gain the ability to talk about children’s rights and duties, learn about how and when to apply them, and receive information on sources of help with any trouble or specific problems they are unsure how to confront.
Children’s Board is organised by Primary School Borovje and Children’s House Borovje, and its participants are class presidents from grades 5 to 8.
